In the 1960s Nevo’s work shifted to evolutionary dynamics of living frogs covering molecular biology, genetics, morphology, physiology, and behavioral perspectives, primarily vocal communication as the basis of speciation. These studies were conducted across the USA and the Middle East but primarily in Israel.
